Enrollment

Johnstown Christian Preschool is open to 3 through 5 year old children of all races and religions. The preschool is licensed to serve 32 children at any one time. Meeting the needs of children is the preschool’s top priority. Children with special needs may be admitted at the discretion of the Director. Children may be referred to other programs to suit their individual needs.

Parental Role

Parent participation and visitation is not only welcomed, but is encouraged at the Johnstown Christian Preschool.  The involvement of parents is considered an important part of our quality program.  We feel parents and staff members should work together to make the child’s first school experience a positive one.  Parents have an opportunity to participate in parent orientation, conferences, as parent volunteers, as teacher’s helpers and by attending special programs.  A monthly newsletter and calendar are part of our communication system.  The staff is always available for questions.

Philosophy

The goal of the Johnstown Christian Preschool is to prepare each child for kindergarten with a Christian background.  We want to start each child’s school experience in a positive manner.

      Our objectives for the year are for the child to grow:

      Spiritually - through learning of God’s love for him/her.

     Socially - through association with other children in free play and planned activities.        

     Physically - through exercise

    Emotionally - as he/she gains security and self-assurance through love and completed goals.
